ScanSticker Go Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: October 25, 2026
This policy lists what may not be done with ScanSticker Go. It is part of the ScanSticker Go Terms of Service and applies to the Company and every user on its team. The owner is responsible for making sure the team follows it. "We" means ScanSticker LLC. "The Company" and "you" mean the business using the service.
1. No illegal use
Do not use ScanSticker Go to break the law or to help anyone else break it. For example, do not:
- bill for work that was not done, or send a customer a false or misleading estimate or invoice;
- take payments through your Stripe connection for another business's sales, or for any business Stripe does not support;
- use the service for a business outside the United States;
- store or share anything that is illegal to have or to share.
2. Respect your customers' contact details
Your customers' names, emails, phone numbers and addresses are in the app so you can serve them. Within the service:
- add only people and businesses you serve or have been asked to serve;
- use contact details only for that customer's service: requests, appointments, estimates, invoices, receipts and reminders;
- do not use the service to collect contact details in order to sell, rent or hand them to others;
- give each user only the role they need, and remove access when someone leaves;
- once customer pages are offered, send a customer page link only to a contact on file for that customer.
3. No spam
3.1 Email only. ScanSticker Go sends service email for the Company about its own work: request confirmations, appointment emails, estimates, invoices, receipts and reminders. It is not a marketing tool. Do not:
- use reminder wording, the Company's estimate terms or any other text field to advertise or promote;
- create customers, jobs or estimates only to send someone an email;
- send estimates or invoices to people who did not ask for your service.
3.2 Texts are yours. The app sends no texts. The "On my way" button only opens the technician's own Messages app with a prefilled note, and the technician sends it from their own phone, which may be a personal number. Those texts, and any others staff send to customers, are the responsibility of the technician and the Company, not ScanSticker. Keep them about the job, and stop texting a customer who asks you to. The owner can hide the On my way button for the whole team.
4. Only share what you have the right to share
Manuals you upload with "Share with the ScanSticker library" ticked are shared with other Companies at once, without review by ScanSticker. Part numbers and descriptions you add to a unit are offered to other Companies as suggestions. So, in particular:
- leave the box ticked only if the Company owns the manual, the publisher allows it to be shared, or the Company has permission;
- remove customer details before you upload: untick the box for any file with customer names, addresses, prices, service notes, signatures, handwriting or other private details, including a manual with a service ticket scanned into it;
- never share manuals or bulletins that are confidential, restricted to dealers, or covered by an agreement that bars sharing;
- describe parts in your own short words, without prices or customer details;
- do not upload malware, or anything obscene, hateful or harassing;
- keep people, documents and anything private out of equipment photos, because the public sticker page may show them in future.
Report a library manual or suggested part that looks wrong from the app. Copyright concerns go to our designated agent, named in the Manual Library and Copyright Policy.
5. No attacks on the service or on other Companies' data
Do not:
- try to see or change another Company's data, or a customer page that is not yours;
- try to guess customer page, estimate or payment links;
- probe, scan or test the service for weaknesses without our written permission (report security problems to support@scansticker.com);
- overload the service, or use bots or scripts to read pages or submit forms, including the public request form;
- copy the manual library, the parts library or the list of makes in bulk;
- copy, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it despite this limit (Terms of Service, section 15.3);
- get around limits on seats or other features, or let more than one person use a sign-in;
- resell or rent the service to another business.
6. Stickers
A ScanSticker sticker ties one machine to its record. Do not:
- put a sticker on equipment you do not service, or without the equipment owner's permission;
- copy, print, alter or make your own ScanSticker codes, or make anything that imitates a ScanSticker;
- cover a sticker with another QR code, or use a sticker to send people anywhere other than the equipment's ScanSticker page;
- remove or cover another company's ScanSticker unless the equipment owner asks you to;
- move a sticker from one machine to another. A replacement machine is a new record, and a worn sticker is replaced through the app so the history stays;
- submit false or nuisance requests through any company's sticker page.
7. Enforcement
7.1 How we find out. We act on reports from users and others, on copyright notices, and on our own security checks. We do not review files before they are shared.
7.2 What we may do. Usually in this order:
- Contact the owner, explain the problem and ask for it to be fixed by a set date.
- Remove the content or switch off the feature involved, such as a library manual, a suggested part, a customer page link or the Company's ability to upload manuals.
- Suspend a user, or suspend the Company's access in part or in full.
- End the Company's account under section 20 of the Terms of Service.
For serious harm, such as an attack, fraud, illegal content or a risk to other Companies' data, we may go straight to suspension or termination, and we may report it to law enforcement.
7.3 Your records. Once the app offers export, during a suspension we try to keep the owner able to export the Company's records, unless that would continue the harm.
7.4 Disagreeing. The owner can write to support@scansticker.com to explain or contest an action, and we will review it.
7.5 Reporting misuse. Anyone can report misuse of ScanSticker Go to support@scansticker.com.
7.6 Changes. We may update this policy with notice, as section 14.4 of the Terms of Service describes.
